Viramune

Viramune is the name of a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor with activity against HIV -1. Warnings were issued regarding the possible dangers of Viramune, including severe, life-threatening hepatotoxicity. Severe, life-threatening skin reactions have occurred in Viramune patients, including Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, and hypersensitivity reactions characterized by rash, constitutional findings, and organ dysfunction.

A "Dear Doctor" letter was written by Roxane Laboratories warning of the potential Viramune effects patients have experienced. Some patients experience Viramune withdrawal symptoms.
